William Foster Papers 1862-1866

William Foster (1840-1907) was a medical student from Scio (New Market), in Harrison County, Ohio who became a sergeant and hospital steward in the 126th Regiment of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the American Civil War. He was involved in numerous battles before he mustered out in July, 1865. He married Katherine Humphrey that September. The collection consists of photocopies of Civil War correspondence, mainly to Katherine Humphrey.
